Hello,
We are currently running a NW04 version of ESS. We have made some customizations to this version ESS webdynpro code. We have followed the instructions in the NWDI/JDI cookbook.
We are planning to upgrade to the NW 04s. This means we will have to upgrade our business package from NW04 to NW04s.
The NWDI cookbook tells you the procedure on how to upgrade the business package bold within the same version bold. For example jumping to another support pack level within the same version. We need to use the merge tools in NWDS.
What is the process for upgrading the XSS source-code if you are going from NW04 to NW04s???
What version of Developer Studio do we use? I thought we need to be in line with the same version as our system....but now we have 2 different versions of source to work with?

The princip is to use the same version of developer studio as the version your servers are running.
You might need to recompile your old 04 code, and do some changes for 04s.
There are some slight differences in the api's. Easiest way is to deploy your webdynpro dc's and test them.
Have you done modifications of standard ESS dc's?
Regards, Mikael
