Hi,

>Xi is Point to Point Integration or some thing Else???

No it's exactly the opposite of it.

In point to point you connect each system directly to other systems.

With XI you connect all systems with the XI.

But you can set up point to point connections in XI:

Hi,

Point to Point Integration was in old days, Assume if you want to connect 50 systems with help of a integration tool, Then you need to create manually 50 connections seperately and independentally to all the 50 systems with the integration tool, We cannot make use of the connections further to integrate the same system again with the integration tool. because of this maintainaence, support,Time consumption are more.

If the Business requirement then need to go for Point to Point Integration, Sure we can make use of XI also.

Hi,

XI is a kind of EAI system (what is the opposite of point to point) it's explained here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enterprise_application_integration

If you connect 10 systems with each other you have 45 connections, but if you have a XI between this 10 systems you will only have 10 connections (from each system one connection to the XI).

That's one reason why to use a XI.

But if you use a XI you could have some single point to point connections (to improve performance) like described in the link I mentioned above.

Hi,

>So you mean to say we can use XI for Point --point integration and also for quite opposite

I mean XI is the opposite of point to point, but it has the feature to use point to point connections (because in a few cases it could make sense).
