file to idoc

In a file to idoc scinario data was received by sap r/3 system if we want to save it to database tables do we neeed to do any thing explicitly?

Inbound process code does that work...you can find inbound process codes for IDoc in trasaction WE42

Hi,

Aftert the Idoc has been received and posted successfully in the R/3 system, the data will be saved in the tables by the code, which was written in the ABAP.

Suppose when you send MATMAS idoc, the Idoc will be processed in the R/3.

If the idoc is successfuly processed, the status of the idoc will be 53. Then you can see the material number(MATNR), which is in the idoc in the MARA table.
