Dear All,

I have a ERP ECC6 system on one server (Central System). Now I only want to setup Application Server on another host with existing database. Can anyone help me to setup like that?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Hi,

first of all you need to install database client software on host where you want to install SAP application server

(dialog instance)

install JDK software for your relevant OS. set path for that.

you need following CD/DVD for application server

master DVD for ECC 6.0 installation

kernel CD/DVD for your appropriate ECC 6.0 installation ( use same kernel as your SAP system)

run sapinst.exe from master DVD and select following path

SAP ERP 2005 Support Release 2 -> Additional Software Life-Cycle Tasks -> Application Server -> Oracle ->

Dialog Instance

further use installation document for ECC 6.0 on oracle with your relevant OS.

check service.sap.com/instguides

Hi kaushal,

Description:

Host 1: saperp1.company.com

Host 2: saperp2.company.com

I finish setting up application and database in host 1 (central system).

Now I setup another application server on host 2. This server will connect to existing system on host1.

When stopping application on host 1, I still log on SAP GUI but I can not do anything. Error warning: "A system error occurred in lock administration. The data could not be locked as requested."

Hi,

first of all do not shutdown the central instance.

your central instance contain Message server + ( Disp + Work ) + Enqueue server means all work processes.

now on host to your dialog instance contain only (Disp + work) means all work process except ENQ service which are used for locking.

if you stop the central instance then no locking is possible because no ENQ process !!!

in short don't shutdown the central instance. on host 1

before shutdown the central instance you must have to shutdown the dialog instance first on host2.

you can not use dialog instance without Central instance.

Hi,

Thank for your guide. Because I prepare to setup Real Application Cluster Oracle. There are 2 applications and 2 databases. Now I want to test 2 application and one database. I have read MCOD (multi component on one database) but I dont have document to setup.
