Hello
I may be moving to a new client that has iSeries environment, as I am from a Wins and Unix background, I would like to know what are some major differences in support SAP in a iSeries environment? Is there any website or documents I can read that gives pointers/tips/info etc on supporting SAP on iSeries.
I appreciate any feedback!
Thanks
Hi Thanu,
for sure there is ))
You should have a look at the redbooks:

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redpieces/abstracts/redp4189.html?Open

... but if you are not familiar with iSeries, it becomes "at least interesting" ...

Hello Thanu.
In addition to the links Volker has given I would like to point to our [SAP on DB2 for i5/OS pages|] in the SDN. In the knowledge center you will find some information that might help you.
There is a course "ADM525 - SAP NetWeaver on DB2 UDB for iSeries: Database Administration" offered by SAP/IBM that is designed for people familiar to SAP but new to the i5/OS world.
Best regards,
Jan Stallkamp
Thank you both for the links. So iseries can run unix or win os is it? Does it have its own console and commands as well?
thanks for feedback
