how to use mdm-xi-r3

Hi!

I have some doubts.

  • Is there any guide, or someone can tell me the step by step solution to use xi-syndicator?

*I want to implement srm-r3-mdm. I've downloaded the business content, but i don't know how it works, also I don't know anything about the xi content, only that I've downloaded.

-for example for SRM, the BC recommends to use 1 table as vendor with 4 fields. But in my repository I have 10 fields in that table, using the inbound port I will get only the data of those 4 fields. Can I use that xml (add the fields I use) as an outbound?? or I have to create a new xml, with my schema?

-with R/3

to get the info, I will use the mgmgx transaction, it will generate one or some xmls. Can I use them to export data?

-how can i create an xml, only exporting the schema in the console... is it the same i can use in syndicator and import manager??

--even if i have to create a new xml or use the same as in the inbounds... how mdm-syndicator-xi-srm/r3 works? when the xml converts in an idoc... you need to map something? or how

the data in mdm, knows to wich field in r3/srm have to go?... here is where the xi-mdm content works??

i hope someone can help me!

Hi,

If I understood correctly; You are trying to connect SRM and MDM and not R/3.

You need SRM-MDM catalog.

https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000065941&;

You should also read the SAP Note 1057316.

You can also go through following links:

Go through below blogs on MDM-XI-R/3 integration.

Hi U R,

I would like to answer some of your queires :

Is there any guide, or someone can tell me the step by step solution to use xi-syndicator?

Sol - Please go through the following link which is an execellent blog:

[https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2278] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];

This will tell you all the necessary configuration to be done on both MDM and XI side.

-with R/3

to get the info, I will use the mgmgx transaction, it will generate one or some xmls. Can I use them to export data?

You will get very valuable information through this link. Please follow:

[;

In addition, MDMGX extracts the lookup table data in a single XMl File. Also the same XMl file can be directly used for importing Data into the LookUp tables in MDM.

-how can i create an xml, only exporting the schema in the console... is it the same i can use in syndicator and import manager??

Yes, you can export the Schema from the Repository from Console. You will have to generate the XSD using the Xomlite Software. Here is the link to do that:

[https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bf0e8a97-0d01-0010-f0a2-af3b18b7f4eb]

Moreover, The schema that you upload in Console is Valid for both Import Manager and Syndicator.

Additionally, R3 generates IDOCs, which are converted to XMl files by XI. These files then can be used for importing in MDM. The field mapping is then done in MDM and the appropriate fields get the data in MDM.

Hope it helps.

*Please reward points if useful.
