Only Database Instance as a Cluster, not the Central Instance - (MS/ORA)...

Hi Folks!

I want to know if there is possible to have a Database Instance as a cluster (2 nodes = 2 servers) and a Central Instance in other server (not as a cluster)?

What are the considerations on the Installation Guide (Cluster installation with MSCS)?

My system is R/3 4.7 Enterprise, on Windows and Oracle 9i...

Thanks in advance,

BOB

Though this kind of configuration is not mentioned in the Install Guide, you can follow the simple procedure.

1. Assign A floating host name / Floating IP address for DB cluster

2. Assign A floating host name / Floating IP address for Central Instance.

So the central instance will use the host/IP of the DB instance to connect. No Doubt it will work

But The central instance, you need to get 2 licenses to be installed using /nSLICENSE tcode becuase the hardware key of the CI changes.
