Only Stock From HU Storage Locations are allowed on HU

We have both SU (Putaway) and HU (for picking/packing purposes only) used within the same Warehouse and using the same number range creating obviously some issues.

How can we correct this?

We are currently using ECC 6.0. At the creation of the transfer order for delivery for putaway we gat that hard error "Only Stock From HU Storage Locations are allowed on HU 1xxxxx"

To get around this error, we have to move the stock to a none SU manage Storage Type (999) and move it back to bin creating a new SU. It appears that we have a conflict between the SU & HU number range....it there a fix other than move everything out from these bins/SU manage storages type, create a new SU number range and push the materials all back to the bins?
