Roadmap folder "locked for editing"once a user edits a doc under the folder

Hello Roadmap Gurus,

The problem now we face with Roadmap is:

We have created our own Roadmap structure and started uploading documents against appropriate folders of our choice.

We have lot of documents under one specific folder which have been uploaded by different users and will be edited by different users at same point of time.

The problem now is that when one user is editing a document under this folder, nobody else is able to edit any other document or its attributes.

Any guess about what could be the reason for this kind of problem?

Is that so that when a user starts editing one document, the entire folder is getting "locked for editing" to all other users?

Seems like this is a bug in the Roadmap feature of SolMan. Can anybody from SAP clarify us regarding this pbm?

I had a similar problem with some users. When someone was editing a document in a folder and another user accessed the same folder, the second user would recieve a warning that the folder was locked. But this refered to the fact that the folder was locked in the sense that you could not modify that folder (add, remove, documents) but you could still edit the other documents by selecting them and editing. There are two different locks in this sense:

1. When you edit a document inside a folder, that folder cannot be edited (the structure of the folder, add, remove docs), but other documents can be opened with read or write permission.

2. When you edit a document, others can only read the document you are editing.

Please confirm by trying to edit a different file although you recieve the warning folder locked for editing.
