transport error

while doing the import trasport request i got an error how can i solve that error,what could be the reasons

Hai,

Post the SLOG for that particular transport request. You can get the logs in the c:\usr\sap\trans\log.

go to transsaction stms_import and check the slog , alog , which will tell you the error , you might have to expand the logs to lowest level.

Error in transport can be due to many reasons .

Reason 1: There could be problem in sequence.

Reason 2 : there could be problem with Transport tool.

Reason 3: There could be problem with TRBAT , TRJOB table

Reason 4 : There could be problem with memory , processe in SAP system .

...

..

The list is end less , you have to see the logs.

If Error code = 4 , it is warning ignore it

If EC = 8 , it is a program error, tell the ABAP developers, you cant do any thing

If EC greater than 8, then It is a BASIS issue, check the TMS config, STMS, check the OS error, check the SLOG..
