Unit of measure conversion

Hi,

I have problem while the conversion at Material master.

While iam entering the conversion as 1 gross tonne = 1.016 tonnes and say enter, the system automatically converting as 82.383 gross tonnes = 83.705 tonnes.

but this values 83.705 tonnes is wrong. It should be 83.701 tonnes.

calculation is 82.383*1.016 = 83.701 but it is taking as 83.705.

My question is, where do we define the conversion for unit of measurement?

And why it is calculating wrongly?
