my customer receives lot of inquiries which do not result in to sales orderss........hence he does not want to create a customer master data for each of these new inquiry customers........how do i sort this out do i create one dummy customer and use it every time or is there any other way to handle it.

Yes you are correct. Generally we create one dummy customer & use it for inquiry.

hi,
you can create a customer group and make the check box tick on one time.so when ever you create a CMR in that group then he is going to be a one time customer.
path : IMG-F/A-ACC rec and ACc payable- customer account -master data-prep for creating cust master data-def acc groups with screen layout.
in it you can see the check box.
