Dear All,
Can you provide me with the basi introduction docs for XI.
I am new to XI & certainly dont know any thing regarding same.
Would like to start of with introduction.
Also if you have docs / pdf related to FAQ for the same then do post link here.
Does XI & PI same? or there is difference in it?
Points will be rewarded.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
just concentrate on what is xi,whats the need of xi in sap, what are merits and demerits....
You can also check this link

hi purav,
My sincere advice is , before going straight forward into scenarios, first of take a look of basic functionality of xi and its components like, ADAPTER ENGINE,INTEGRATION ENGINE,BUSINESS PROCESS ENGINE ,SLD,INTEGRATION REPOSITORY,ID,RWB etc...from searching it thru forums....
after that under stand the message flow in xi..
all these documents you can get it from sdn forums by searching .....

Hi Purav,
> Would like to start of with introduction.
Just a short intro-->XI is a middleware tool used to connect SAP and Non -SAP systems with technologoies like HTTP,Web Services, RFC etc. You can also map the source and target messages.
>
> Also if you have docs / pdf related to FAQ for the same then do post link here.
Go to https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki and check Exchange Infrastructure
>
> Does XI & PI same? or there is difference in it?
Yes they are same . SAP has changed the name from version 7. the latest version is PI 7.0 and upcoming version is PI 7.1

Piyush
