Hi,

From the above link you can start learning caf. Actually main feature of caf is that it uses the existing services and eneables us to build our applications on the top of the existing services

Hi Sumit,

CAF is Composite Application Framework;

It provides 2 things or two tools

1) CAF Core

2) CAF GP

CAF is a framework which helps in developing and deploying composites that follows the ESA Architecture. ESA(Enterprise Services Architecture is an SAP implementation of SOA)

These composites are applications that supports highly colloborative and dynamic business processes which spans across different functional areas across and beyound system boundries.

They get data and functions in the form of services and from different SAP and non SAP systems and then we apply our Business Logic on that data and present it with the required User Interface(UI).

These composites that you make in CAF core are the results of the white space analysis. This white space is can be understood in way that you are having one business process and there is something that is missing in it abd that functionality is not provided by the SAP, than to fulfill that gap you have to do custom development and that development is done in CAF.

Than comes the CAF GP (Guided Procedures) which is used to make a business process (workflow), we can use the components that we have developed in the CAF and also GP framework provides a lot of other objects which you can use to make a complete Business Process.

Refer to forum thread :

This thread can provide you more clear understanding.

And Refer to link https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/workflowtoolsinSAPNetWeaver& to completely understand the difference between GP and BPM (i.e Different Workflow tools)

check the following link , this will help u to understand what is caf with core & caf with gp

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/ce/3376824d9e4b0d94b651dc1a74d0ff/frameset.htm

Hope it helps,

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
