what is the main difference between accountgroup&fieldstatus variant plz explain in detail
Dear Sravya,
At the time of the creation of a GL account, there are fields which appear which you fill and then save to create the GL accounts. The Account Group controls which fields are to appear at the time of the creation of a GL account.
For example if you have an account group for say "P/L accounts", at the account group level, you can make the field "Open Item managed" as "Suppress". So whenever you create any gl account under the group "P/L accounts", the field "open items managed" will not appear.
Similarly at the time of making any entries in a particular GL account, there are certain fields that appear at the time of entry. These fields are controlled by the "Field Status Variant" of the GL account. For example, if you want to make the text field as mandatory for a GL account, then we can make the field as "Requied" in the field status variant and attach this field status variant to the GL account.
Hope that clarifies.
