command for restoring files from tape drive to our system

Can anyybody inform me about a command on OS lavel through which we can restore files from tape drive to our system after backup.thankls in advance........

Raj,

That depends specifically on the OS under consideration....for solaris..try

ufsrestore xvf /dev/rmt/n filename..etc

you also have the issue of dealing with multiple volumes...

I am not sure how you plan on doing that with a single file command using XI..Unless you want to put the commands into a bat/.sh file, ftp it to the remote system and Run it using the os command thingy from XI........just a thought

I am working on HP-UX 11.23 ,db is oracle 9.0.4.0 so I need command on HP-UX level.Please give me information about the command through which we can restore files from tapedrive.Thanks for ur responce.
