Mini BASIS Installation from the Book ABAP Objects by KELLER & Kruger

Hello People

I have installed the Minibasis CD's and both One by one KERNEL and the DATA.

My system description is as follows:

Intel P4 CPU 2.4 Ghz

256 MB RAM

Microsoft XP Profssional Version 2002

Service Pack 1

Operating system's drive is NTFS system.

MS-SQL is also installed on OS drive.i.e C:/

MiniBASIS

is installed on the E:\ Local Hard Disk with 18.6 GB of free space and FAT32 File System.

I have installed the Minibasis CD's and both One by one KERNEL and the DATA.

Installation of Application Server and Database went off smoothly.Also the SAPgui(frontend).

A new SAPLogon icon also appeared on my desktop.

But after the new entry is created in the SAPlogon....and As soon as i click on the MBS entry created as per the instruction in the Installation procedure I get the following error message screen.

go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file

the entry localhost in that file should be pointing to the IP address which you have specified when installing the loopback adapter. (i think as per the documentation it is 10.10.0.10).

modify the host file to the correct IP address and it should work.

as far as i remember the documentation requires you to have NTFS file system

yes It really helped

First I did the conversion of FAT32 to NTFS

and then checked the comp name and its IPaddr.

I may also need you and u r adivice in future
