hi,
on weekly basis we have entire system backup on our as/400 server.
i'm wondering if in an instance we have one client corrupted, can i just restore that particular client from the Entire System Backup tape ?
comment, suggestion and advice are appreciated.
regards,
kent
No.
The backup doesn´t know anything about a client, it dumps the database completely onto a tape. The entries, that distinguish a line between belong to client X or Y are just numbers in the tables.
What you can do is to restore completely to a different server and then do a client export or remote client copy.

Hi,
it is difficult to restore only single sap client from sap database.
SAP Database does not contain only data but also contains the programs as well. And some of these infomation (Data as you would call) is shared across multiple client in one databse instance.
i think this not your production server client so you can restore DB from the backup and also restore the journal receiver.
