DMS usage

Hi

completely new to DMS in which I have to work with.

2 novice questions:-

-is ECC 6 comprising the DMS module or is it a separate module to be installed.

-to give a small functional demo, will ECC be enough or as I was reading a 'web interface' is needed(easy DMS).

any information would help to move ahead.

Thank you

Hi Shovon,

DMS is part of the SAP PLM package and is no separate module. Since you have implemented the PLM package you can also use the DMS functions in transaction CV01N (create), CV02N (edit), CV03N (display) and CV04N (search).

A documentation and further information could be found in the SAP Online Documentation under http://help.sap.com under entry 'Cross Application Components'.

Also in the SDN WIKI you will find a DMS area under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/plm/sapDocumentManagement+%28CA-DMS%29. Here you will find also information on the installation process of EasyDMS, which is a special DMS installation. EasyDMS is integrated in the Microsoft Explorer and you can logon to the backend system by using RFC.

Best regards,

Christoph
