when am opening IR it will showing as unknown file type, and also it is saving a file as repository.jnlp , could you plz clear my problem ,

install java 1.4.2_09.and put your xi server name along with ip in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc.

The problem is with Java Web Start.
to resolve this uninstall J2SDK versions and install j2sdk 1.4.2.

can u check ur authorization in ADMINSTRATOR ROLE

one more thing is disable ur proxy and then try ... some times it will work..

1) check the entries in the Host file for the XI boxes.
2) Check if the JWS has J2SE 1.4.2 installed.
3) check if the Cache contains comething for this boxes.

Have to added the Host file in your Desktop of the following Path
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Open the hosts file with Notepad and add the Host name of the XI and IP of the Xi server.
If u are still facing the same problem. Look into this
