discontinuation of a material

A material is to used till the stock of the material is there, and when the stock gets exhausted, it has to be discontinued.

This material is the header material of a BOM.

The requirement is that once the stock is exhausted, new sales order should not be allowed to be created.

How to specify that sales to be allowed for this material till stock is available? Is there a setting somewhere?

Hi

You have to configure for availability check or if the material is exhausted mark the material for deletion in MM06.

Hi,

Try searching a user exit, wherein you can check the material availability, and if material is not available , a error should b thrown.

check if u can find anything in USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT.

Hi

If you wish to determine another material in the place of this BOM material (in case of non availability), you can use the functionality Material Determination.

If the order is not to be created, I feel you have to go for Userexit.
