Hi Gurus,
What is the significance of MRP type ND -no planning
My doubt is, If Planning is not required, What is the need to maintain the MRP views and entering mrp type as ND
Useful answer will be awarded

Hi
Regarding the ND, if you don't require the planning, simple way, do not maintain the MRP view for a material.
Second thing, If ND is maintained in MRP view, maybe some fields is useful for simple/manual planning such as safety stock, mrp planner, min stock, etc. This info will be help for end user to do manual planning. By preparing a report, you get benefit info for a material to do simple planning.
Hope it useful

Hi
in some cases the MRP is not done for some materials, as they are out of use or so. In such cases we cannot delete the MRP view , in order to prevent planning of materials which are no longer in use you can change MRP type to ND.
This will prevent the system from picking up the materials for planning.
In some cases as we have done we have created all the materials with MRP views with MRP type ND in view of planning in the future, by creating with MRP view we have reduced the amount of time required for activating the materials for Planning.
Thanks & regards
Kishore

hi,
his indicator, on the MRP view of the standard system, determines how the material is planned, for example using MRP . As discussed in Material Requirements in Assembly Processing, since you want to use network planning for this material, you do not want to use MRP for this material. One way of doing this is to set this field to No planning (ND). However it is preferable to set the No MRP indicator in the requirements class.
This is mainly used for knowing the requirements .Here in case of SD when ever the SO is created then there no availability check carried out.
this works with = MRP type + Item category (SPRO Determination of requirements type using transaction)
