could someone tell me the process for email notification to the customer once its been shippped from the warehouse.......

Dear Bob,

You can send the e-mail notification to the customer after done the PGI through output determination.

-->First you do the configuration for delivery output determination.

IMG>Ligistics execution>shipping>Basic shipping functions>Output control>Output determination>Maintain output determination for outbound deliveries.

-->You discuss with your ABAPers about your requirement based on that they develop the output program and same will be assigned to the output type.

-->You maintain the tranmision medium e-mail in the output type

-->Maintain the condition record for that output type in VV21 transaction
