Hi,

what is the use of fields like "Assignment Number" and "Reference number" fields in copy control from delivery to billing [VTFL].

Allocation number

You can find the allocation number under additional information in the (document) line item that is forwarded from SD to FI.

The reference number is a piece of additional information forwarded from SD and FI shown under data entry view.

USE of These :

The Reference Number in Header of the accounting document is used for clearing.

The Allocation Number is in Customer Line Item and is used for sorting line numbers.

These,

Allocation number & Reference number will be copied while creating billing with ref to subsequent docs, if any.

and when billing is released to FI.

This doc numbers act as ref doc's.
