Hello Gopal,

Nothing to worry about the droping the instance... To construct it will take time, to destruct it's just seconds .... Remove all the Files under /ORACLE/920_64 /QAS and remove /usr/sap/QAS file systems...

If you are using MCOD, you need to drop the table spaces to remove the space....

Let me know if you need any more details....

Cheers,

Praveen

Hi Gopal,

From the installation Master CD(any latest installation master CD's) there is an option to Remove the Instance,I think this option is available under 'Additional Software Life Cycle Tasks' in the installation Master GUI(start the installation master drill down to to Remove instance & select the instance ID you want to delete and go ahead.

Dear Sam,

After drop an instance, this will not affect the other instance. And i get the free space or require a database reorgation to free the space

Thanks & regard

Hi Gopal,

I guess, there is nothing can be deleted from Instalation master...

Be careful while doing that...

Hi Gopal,

Deletion of instance is absolutely possible from the installation master GUI,this will not affect the other instances. In a single instance deletion(not MCOD) after the instance deletion is done you have to physically remove the database files.

For an MCOD i think you may require to do a re-org after the deletion.
