Hi,
I would like to know about kernal upgrade. please help me with the procees. can users login to sap while kernel upgrade is going on. or we need to stop all sap and Database services also.
thanks,
praveen
Hi praveen,
Let me tell the procedure for applying kernel.
1.Download the respective kernel files from SAP market place(no approval required from solution manager)
2.Down the sap instance which you are going to apply the kernel.
3. Take a back up of the existing kernel and stop the SAP services using servises.msc in run command
4.then Uncar the downloaded SAR file and replace the existing kernel file.
then restart the system.
So no need to down the database and also once the system is down no one can log in to the instance.
