Hi-
Current standard process to repack HUs is multi step
Move HU from standard storage type to repack storage type. Unpack, create new HU then repack (via either HUMO or HU02). Then another move via LT09 back to standard storage type.
Is there any config or process where this could be done in less steps?
Thanks in advance for your assistance. (points to be rewarded)
Kind Regards,
DEP
Hi Dep,
You can use BAPI_HU_REPACK to achieve this. With this function module the structure of an existing packing hierarchy can be changed: you can repack one HU into another existing or new HU but you cannot change the packed quantity.

Hello Donna,
You can actually make use of the Automatic packing functionality to reduce manual steps. Automatic packing can take place in the background at delivery creation as soon as:
- a packing proposal has been defined in the sales order document
or
- suitable packing instructions exist and automatic packing is marked at delivery type level.
For documentation about Auto.Packing, you can refer to :
--> SAP ERP Central Component
--> Logistics
--> Logistics General (LO)
--> HUM >> Packing --> Automatic Packing
Hope this helps.
