regarding Installation of XI

Hello,

I want to install SAP XI into my personal system. So i need information that which is beset version NW2004 or some other versions.

And what are the componants i should install and what are the versions?

Can i download it from the internet?

What is the procedure?

Please give me details?

Hi Jyotsna

you may go for PI7.0

I have recently installed XI on virtual machine. I have followed MAster installation guide

Following are the requirements

1) you need the software from SAP which includes 13 DVD

also java web policy , java 1.4.2.12 installed on your system

2) system requirement at least 60 GB space and at least 2 GB RAM with more swaping space

3) OS must be server (like 2003 server etc)> This might be 32 bit or might be 64 bit depending upon your requirement and choice

Process:

1) first install OS server on your system

2)Install JDK1.4.12 (ecomended by SAP)

3) intstall DATABASE (like oracle, or DB2 IBM)

4)Install Solution manager to generate solution manager key (if you are using trial version)

or if you have license key from SAP then no need to install SM

5) then install database and patches

6) now start with master installation DVD and give recomended path

7) after installation you need to install template installer

😎 then you need to import TPZ file in your repository folder so that you may see your basis component in repository

Regarding the versions,,,,,the older one is XI 3.0.........XI 7.0 is currently being used.....

The latest one is PI 7.1 (process integration)........

U need to get the software installed in ur personal system.......also u require JWS 1.4.2 (jawa web start is a must).....It also requires something like a 160 RAM and 1GB HD to b installe din ur local PC or laptop..

On installation you can open xi with Tcode sxmb_ifr from sap logon pad.........or a URL in this format....

https://<server>:<port>/rep/start/index.jsp.......something similar to this..........

Hi Jyotsna,

The latest version of the XI is PI 7.0 ................you need to have this software and i am sure if you have this .......anyways the other software that you need is oprating system Windows 2003 server ........ and also the install the latest Java version on your system...........
