hi xi experts,

Hi Vijaya,
can u tell me difference
between nfs and ftp and how it will used in realtime.
If the file you are picking up is on the an FTP server then u need to use FTP protocol(in this case you will give FTP server name or IP address in sender file communication channel)
But if the file is on NFS server(meaning on XI server itself) then u can use NFS protocol.
Thanks,
Satya Kumar

Hi,
We use NFS-----when the file is placed in the Network( like it will be in XI Application server AL11 or on the shared folder of XI Server )
We use FTP---When we have FTP server.
We use FTP server IP( Ex:122.192.23.12)
We use FTP Port as 21 ( By default)
Regards
Seshagiri

NFS and FTP are the transport protocols of your messages.
NFS -- can read the files from the server location...Works like a normal file system ie local system....poll the data from server location only
FTP--Its a external server which can place files ,can access from anywhere.
