Parellel & Mass processing

Hi all !

What's the difference b/w Parellel processing and Mass processing? Which one is bettter?

When do we use them?

Hello,

SAP provides lot of mass processing programs like FPMA, FPVB, FPCOPARA, FPY1...etc...all these programs processes numerous contract accounts in mass...at a time and post documents, generate correspondence etc...

where parallel processing is splitting the contract accounts and processing at a time so that there shall not be any performance issue

The aim of parallel mass processing is to shorten processing times by:

Dividing up processes

Processing the dataset in parallel

You create intervals in the varaint for Parallel processing.

Parallel processing is always better ...and suggested mode

Kn U Pl. xplain how 2 create intervals in the Varaint for Parallel processing. Is that variant used in Rate in Billing Master data ?

Hello Sunil,

For every mass program there would be Technical settings tab strip. Say take the ex of 'FPMA'. Assuming that you have customers from 1-100

In side the technical settings tab stip,

you can create a variant and inside you spilt the customers like

1-25

26-50

51-75

75-100

Save the variant. Now run the FPMA as usual.
