Hi,
I'm trying to get going with SAP and I've just downloaded :
SAPNWCE71TrialSP1Preview_DevStudio.tgz
and
SAPNWCE71TrialSP1Preview_JavaEEServer.tgz
from
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-70?rid=/library/uuid/40fe9a6a-2765-2a10-dba9-fc721621e55d
I've run
SAPSAPNWCE71TrialSP1Preview_JavaEEServerJavaEEServer tintelsetup.exe
I gave the JCE stuff.
Now what do I do? Is there any tutorial anywhere to help me get started ?
Harvey
Hi,
The best way to learn is by exploring sdn and help.sap.
These are the starting links for Netweaver7.1 which might be of use to you.
SDN : https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-ce
help.sap : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/ff9fc1d8986c06e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
Thanks & Regards,
Indu

Thanks for the tips.
I've started here
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/ff9fc1d8986c06e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
But when I open "SAP Managemt Console" (form Start menu), I get just one entry "SAP Systems", when I right click onto "Start"; nothing happens. And browsing to "http://localhost/nwa" doesn't work.
My install log finishes like this, do you know what migth be wrong :
Apr 17, 2008 12:09:49 PM [Info]: TASKENGINE: execute task setACLWin

Thanks for some help.

hi,
First check in the console,
whether the instance, you have installed is appearing and up and running(green)
Then you can check in status using URL this way:
Http port will be the central instance
ex;central instance is 01,then http port is 50100
So,you have ti check NWA page with URL
user : master user (administrator)
password : master password

Hi,
I think it isn't running. As I said, when I click start nothing seems to happen. You can find a picture of my management console I've just uloaded here:
http://www.geocities.com/agalacy/sap_console.JPG
As you can see, it isn't in green...
Also, as I said, these don't work :
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
I've searched all the log files, and i only find two in the c:/usr/sap folder (I'm on Windows XP SP2, 2GO rams).
These two files are in "C:\usr\sap\CE1\insthome\primaryApplicationServer\work" and are :
"install.log"
"installMMC.log"
These files were created by the install I explained in my firt Post (top of this thread).
I've put a picture of my install folder "C:\usr\sap\....." here:
http://www.geocities.com/agalacy/sap_files.JPG
Where shoud I look ? What shoud I do ?
Thanks.
Angela
Here are all the log files I've found in "C:\sapdb"
"loader.log"
"MaxDBServer_install-17.04.2008-12.08.log"
"MaxDBWebtools_install-17.04.2008-12.08.log"
None seem to finish with errors. Besides, I can see "dbmsrv.exe" and "dbmevtdisp.exe" running in the task manager.
Do you make anything out of this? Thanks.
Angela
Thanks a lot for the reply. For now I've stopped using the XP version and I've switched to the VM Ware verison :
SAP NetWeaver 70 - Java and ABAP VMware Trial
I'm trying to create an application with ABAP for now, and the VM Ware seems OK for me to get on.
I'll probably go back to 7.1 XP later. Thanks again.
Angela
