Connecting to back end systems

Hi All,

I am creating models in CE7.1VC. I have created RFC destination for a SAP system. I am able to drag and drop the system onto the visual composer.But when i test the data service ,i am unable to retrieve the data from the bapi.But when itest the same thing on the SAP Gui i am able to retrieve the data.

Need help on this.

Hi,

Please make sure you've entered the same Logon Data in the Destination wizard as the Data in the SAP-gui logon screen (including client number).

after defining the destination in NWA, are able to successfully ping the destination? (using the "ping destination" button either in the wizard or in the destination list (in the detailed window below the list)).

Hi Divya,

Make sure that you have done the user mapping for the corresponding system at the portal.

Also be sure that you have selected the inputs and output or output tables properly in the Data Service.

I am trying to test at design time.even after deployment i am not getting any result.

Hi Divya,

Are you getting any error? Or just no output? Can you send me the log file?

Checklist:

1. Mapping to the portal - creating system - OK

2. System available in VC - OK

3. Service available - OK

4. Testing service from design time - right click test service - NOT OK

5. Deployment Test - NOT OK

i have followed the steps you have mentioned i nth web blog.I am able to drag and drop the required bapi onto the Visual screen. When i test the data service i am getting error message.

But when itest the same thing in the sapGUi i am able to get the data (result ) back. Whilw creatin the RFC destination as you have mentioned, the user name and password i have given is the one which i ca nlog on to the SaP gui.

the user name and password i use in visual composer is different.

I don't understand as to why you have to provide the username and password again in VC for the data service??? Once specified in NWA while creating system should be sufficient!!!

Hi, i have the same problem.

I am new to VC. I am using SAP Netweaver Visual Composer, Client version 700.14.0.1.

When i test a Data Service "BAPI_BANK_GETDETAIL" using the following values:

Bankcountry: US

Bankkey: 12345678 or 021000089

It doesn't retrieve values. it says

ERRORBF00:

Bank US 12345678 doesn't exist.

Please help me!

Hey,

beacuse the key is not valid

Try with following values for Bank_key

it is 9 digit Number

000000001,

000000003,

000000004,

000000006,

000000007
