Hi,
Our Customer is planning for a System copy of the production System to set a test environment.
System Copy using R3load ( Export and Import )
Source System
-
R/3 4.6C / Oracle 8.1.7 / Solaris 8 ( SPARC64 )
Target System
-
Environment : R/3 4.6C / Oracle 8.1.7 / Solaris 10 ( SPARC 64 )
My Question is whether Solaris 10 support Oracle 8.1.7 ??
(According to PAM, it does not support.)
Any other important inputs are also welcome ?
Thanking you in anticipation

^^ why upgrade?
install oracle 9.2.0.8 on your target machine and make a db export/import using r3setup (template DBEXPORT.R3S and DBMIG.R3S)...thus your database will be reorganized and you do not have to make a database upgrade from 8.1.7 to 9.2
only 9.2 and 10.2 are supported (either on solaris/sparc 8,9 or 10)
[have a look at PAM|http://imageup.in/up/1207739921.JPG]

Dear Andreas,
Thanks for your reply.
If I wish to Install 9.2.0.8 and do the import should I do anything specific while I perform the Export.
and one more important thing. If i Import into 9.2.0.8, even then, I should be following the Homogeneous System Copy Guide only right. ??
Thanks for you time.
Best Regards
L Raghunahth
