ERP 7 - editing roles and authority trace

Hi We have recently upgraded from R3 to ECC6 with Portals.

How on earth do we create / edit the portals roles? there appears to be no documentation at all!!!!! not even where to start!

Also, is there anyway of doing authority checks/traces for the portals?

ANY HELP GREATLY RECEIVED!!!!!!

from a very lost security administrator!

Are you referring to the SAP delivered portal roles or you want to move from R/3 roles to portal. If you are moving R/3 roles to portal, you can upload the R/3 roles to portal by uploading them. The upload process is in portal and it will create the role with all of the iviews for each tcode.

The only way to do the authority check / trace is from the backend with tcode ST01 - just turn on the trace while performing the functions in portal.
