Regarding Decimals in UOM

HI all,

I have created a new UOM in CUNI and my requirement is to assign the decimal places to the UOM. When I specify the decimals places as 2 while creating a new UOM, the system some how not talking the decimals and when ever I enter the value in decimals in material master the system is not allowing and thrwoing an error " Decimal places are not permitted" with "Message no. 00011".

Hi Shane,

System is not allowing decimal places, as SAP indicates by alternate UOM as

eg 1pc = 1.43 inches

SAP permitted as

100 pc = 143 inches

this is the same as you divided the 143/100 (inches)

hope this clear your doubt.

Dear Shane,

if you have a Converation liker this 1 UOM = .01 UOM(another UOM).then please Enter Like this 100 UOM = 1 UOM (Another UOM).becuase system will now allow you to enter UOM in decimal.

Check in Su01 with basis consultant the decimal notation is maintain
