Specifying Tolerence Limit in Master Inspection Characteristics

Dear Gurus,

I want to mention my Tolerence value in Master Inspection Characteristic (MIC)

Actual value of my characteristics is 40 my lower limit is 39.9 and upper limit is 40.2

Since I am having Bi lateral Tolerence variation, I want to mention my Characteristic value range as 40+0.2/−0.1. .

Please tell me how to do that..?

Hello,

You can do this with T. Code: QS23 (Change MIC)

After selecting Plant and MIC, Select "Quant. Data" Button.

Here you can specify the decimal places, Target value - 40

lower spec. limit 39.9 Upper limit 40.2.

If you want to maintain any specific tolirences like xx +0.2/-0.1 then create the Tolerance key and use it in MIC.

Hi Srinivasan,

Please go to transaction QS23, enter the MIC and Plant, then select the Quant. Data button. Here you can enter the Upper Limit 40.2 and Lower Limit values 39.9 and Save the MIC.

U have to create a new one with tolerance key

Before Creating MIC u create Tolerance Key

this path is to create T.Key

Quality Management --> Quality Planning >Basic Data>Inspection Characteristic, Inspection Method-->Define Tolerance Keys

You create MIC with T. Code: QS21

Enter Quantitative characteristic details and in third screen u enter Tolerance Key and enter the decimal places, Target value - 40

lower spec. limit 39.9 Upper limit 40.2. in fourth screen
