I am converting from a Websphere environment to SAP NW. My DB2 database has strings in the keys, but when I define them in the NW dictionary I get "Dictionary Generation: SAPDBcheckWidth TABLENAME: index on BLOB, CLOB, LONGVARBINARY or LONGVARCHAR is not allowed". Anybody got any ideas? I have defined my database vendor as DB2_UDB in persistence.xml (in the EJB project), but I can't find anything in the dictionary project to tell it strings are OK!
Hi,
if you didn't solve your problem so far:
Due to the addressed type portability larger fields are subject to certain restrictions. For example, as stated in your error message, it is not allowed to use LOB's or larger strings as index fields, they are not comparable.
The Java Dictionary types string and binary map to different JDBC types depending on the field lenght. Don't forget to enter the field length for string/binary fields, otherwise Open SQL/Dictionary consider them as LOB's ...
