Hi all,

What is use of BIC tool, is this BIC tool is mandatory if we use the Seeburger Adapter(any type AS2, OFTP etc).

BIC mapping programs are deployed as SDA files, how to test this these Mappings.

Is there any possibility to get the list of Depolyed files to use them in Module processor.

Hi Hasini,

What is use of BIC tool,

BIC tool is any format converter and support different formats. It has all the standard mappings in it which is used to convert the EDI to XML and XML to EDI format which needs to be deployed on XI server as a SDA files.

and you can make use of these BIC programs in Communication channel Adapter module tab.

BIC mapping programs are deployed as SDA files, how to test this these Mappings.

We can test the BIC mapping program by passing the mapping program name and other paramets in the Adapter module processor.

or

U can test your BIC mapping program directly in the BIC tool itself, by providing the test file and the mapping program

Hello Hasini,

The most direct way of using the Seeburger adaptors is to configure the BIC as a module. There is a software component from seeburger called bicmapper which will allow you to

1. define or import the inbound message metadefinition in various formats ( edifact, xml,...)

2. Using a mapping create an xml variant as the output metadefinition or edifact in the other direction.

3. Create a one to one mapping between input en output.

4. Export the metadata in xsd or sda format for import in XI

5. Generate an SDA which can be deployed in XI and used as a module.

Once the mappings have been created using BIC MD, either as 1:1 mappings or as regular mappings, a method of deploying them on the XI Server is required, so that they can be used by the BIC Adapter. Deployment files can be created with BIC MD, as these are required by SAP XI to perform this task.

Software Deployment Archives (SDA files) can be created by BIC MD in the following way:

1. Move or copy mapping to the Active mappings project by means of the copy & paste feature.

2. Select the ActiveMappings project.

3. Select the Create Deploy File item in the popup menu (mouse’s right button).

Enter the directory where the file is to be created and click on Generate SDA.

If the “Yes” option is selected, all previously created mappings will be deleted, compiled in a selectable directory and a SDA (i.e. jar) will be created.

If the "No“ option is selected, all compiled mappings in the selected directory will be copied to a SDA (or jar).

They will not be examined whether they are up to date. Individual classes can be updated/refreshed with the “Compile Mappings to Productive System” feature. For this, the “Productive System” path and the path that is input into the input field for SDA creation

The SDA file will be called "Mappings_user.sda". And it can be deployed into XI Server by using SDM.

Hi,

BIC is the Basic for converting the Any EDI Format into XML and Vice versa.

We can test the Mappings in BIC itself.

We can Develop our own mappings also in BIC

We have to make one .SDA file by clubing all the Mapping programs what ever u are going to use in Module TAB.

If u goto SDM means there we can see the deployed .sda file only, inside that we cant see the individual mapping names

BIC is a client application. Its like yahoo or any other client software.

Once you install u will se the BIC from start->program->seeburger.

The SEEBURGER Business Integration Converter (BIC) is an any-to-any format converter, used to translate EDI data and legacy data formats into XML and vice versa. It can also be used for complex, high performance XML-to-XML mappings or to interface to existing JDBC data sources.

Supported EDI formats include:

• ANSI

• EDIFACT

• INHOUSE

• IDOC

• XML Schema

• XML DTD

• CSV

• Delimited Data

• positional data

• SWIFT

• EANCOM

and many more.

See for converting the EDI XML to EDI and XML-EDI you need to have a seeburger mapping program at the adapter module which does the conversion. For this module you need a BIC tool of seeburger which provides the different module program for EDI to XML and XML-EDI. This program needs to be deployed on XI and through adapter it has to be called for conversion.

please look in to this links u will come to know about seeburger adapter.

HI,

What is use of BIC tool, is this BIC tool is mandatory if we use the Seeburger Adapter(any type AS2, OFTP etc).

A) BIC tool is any format converter and support different formats. It has all the std mapping in it which is used to convert the EDI to XML and XML to EDI format which needs to be deployed on XI server and which is used in Adapter module tab.

If u wanted to have ur own data structure then u can create ur own structure using BIC its a similar process by which u create the data type in XI. Once the strucutre is created u need to generate the mapping so that it will convert the strucutre to XML and XML to Strucutre format.

U will also come to know the occurrence, parent child relation ship,u can test the mapping using BIC tool.

BIC mapping programs are deployed as SDA files, how to test this these Mappings.

A) U can test the mapping with BIC tool only. u need to select the mapping program and give the input EDI file directory path and output directory path along with file name so it will generate the XML structure for that EDI file and viceversa.

U need to deploy the mapping program on XI server in order to use that.

Is there any possibility to get the list of Depolyed files to use them in Module processor.

A) Std Mapping program always starts with See_E2X_ORDERS_D96A for EDI to XML conversion and

See_X2E_ORDERS_D96A for XML to EDI conversion

when u install the BIC u will get all the standard mapping program provided by seeburger in mapping tab.

Hi,

While deploying the BIC mapping programs as SDA on XI server, The BIC tool is generating the SDA as Mappings_user.sda.

If I want to deploy some more file then what I have to do, with the old deployed file?

Can we change the name of the SDA file generated?

If we can't chage the name, why ?

Is seeburger adapter will look for the only Mappings_user.sda at runtime or what

Hi,

>>If I want to deploy some more file then what I have to do, with the old deployed file?

Can we change the name of the SDA file generated?

If u want to add some more mappings to the existing .sda file and u want to access those mappings in some other interface means you have to make NEW .sda file with all the OLD mappings + NEW mapping names and then deploy the .SDA file on XI server. Then only u can use all the mapping programs.

U can give the name what ever you want , the .sda file name is not any specific. At the time of Mudule TAB any how we have to provide the Mapping program name only. we will not give the .sda file name.
