I'm applying patch 19 for Livecache 7.7 on a solaris system. When I execute the sdbupd , I get this error when it tries to load the appropriate software updates.
We have the sdb user defined in our system as "sdblvs" lvs is our sid. It does exist locally and is locked.
Do not understand why it is loooking for "sdb" as opposed to "sdblvs"
Any ideas?
Sorry, I mispoke - it's 7.7.03.22.
To get around it, we just defined the user "sdb" with the same uid as sdblvs. So we are past it, but are wondering what is going to happen next time we patch. Seems there is something wrong with the install as it is looking for sdb.
Here is the output you requested post patch:

Yes, running as root (sudo). Thanks

Hello Doyle,
1) You are running the LiveCache instance.
=> You are SAP customer
As SAP customer you have the option to create the OSS ticket, therefore we could
logon to your system via OSS and take a look closer on the reported issue.
Please create the ticket to the component 'BC-DB-LVC'.
Or did you already report this problem in OSS ticket? What number?
2)"To get around it, we just defined the user "sdb" with the same uid as sdblvs.
So we are past it, "
I recommend to creat the OSS message to find the solution to this issue. I don't
like this workaround.
3) Did you run the sdbverify as root user?
If yes, then tool should not report the 'inconsistent' database software packages.
4) I also asked the output of the command, run as root user:
id sdblvs
I would like to see the ouput of 'id sdb'.
"We have the sdb user defined in our system as "sdblvs" " => ?
Was liveCache installed with sdb or sdblvs user?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
I did not create an OSS message yet. I will do that.
We don't have time to wait for an OSS message to "not workaround" the issue. We need to complete a Solaris to Linux Migration this weekend. This is only sandbox, so we will have time for the SAP "fix" in the other environments.
c5f3n4:lvsadm> id sdb
id: invalid user name: "sdb"
c5f3n4:lvsadm> id sdblvs
uid=6971(sdblvs) gid=584(sdb_np)
c5f3n4:lvsadm>
Livecache was installed with sdblvs
Hello Doyle,
-> What is the OSS ticket number created by you for this problem?
-> As we saw from the posted in the thread information, the 'sdbverify'
reported the invalid package for the database kernel package.
It has to be checked.
-> "We need to complete a Solaris to Linux Migration this weekend. "
What do you mean?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

2)"I'm applying patch 19 for Livecache 7.7 on a solaris system."
I checked "Matrix of released LCA builds for SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.1"
At service.sap.com/liveCache -> Release-Dependent:SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.1
I could not see the released 7.7.<Support Package>.19 liveCache version. What is the "Support Package"?
=> What is the patch 19 ?
Please see SAP note::
972785 Information: Change to MaxDB version numbering
"the following new meaning now applies:
<Major Release>.<Minor Release>.<Support Package>.<Patch Level>
for example: 7.6.01.04 "
3) More information will be helpful to get clear on the reported issue:
-> Output of the following commands:
dbmcli inst_enum
dbmcli db_enum
sdbregview -l
./sdbverify < run as root >
-> Output of the command, run as root user:
more /etc/opt/sdb
id sdblvs
-> Did you run the liveCache upgrade as root user?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
