Hi Gurus,
My scenario is like this.
For ECC 6.0 IDES key generation I am installing Solution Manager 4.0 on Windows 2003 Std Edition with MSSQL 2005 SP2 with one DB Instance created as DEV.
Once I am done with Solution Manager Installation, Can I Install the ECC 6.0 IDES on the same drive by using the same DB Instance DEV or do I need to have one more DB instance.
I am bit confused on this, can gurus put some light on this.
Answers are awaited.
Regards,
Srikar
Srikar,
You can use the same database for IDES also. It's called MCOD. the database will have two separate schemas.

It should be in the installation guide. Look through this guide and it will have section about MCOD installation. I would review the planning guide and installation guides before starting any installations. Also, I am not big fan of MCOD. I realize that there are some benefits to it, but having separate databases gives you lot of flexibility with perf. tuning and opreations/maintenance.
