While posting a document, i am getting an error:

"Define line layout variant for item display".Can u pls tell me why this error comes and the solution to this error.

Hello,

You need to define Line layout variant in

IMG\FICA\Basic functions\Postings & Documents\General Ledger posting totals\Define Line Layout variant for Posting totals.

Once you define the variant here, you need to attach it while posting documents using FPE1 <in the first screen itself>

Even though I defined a variant, SAP is not even allowing me to go into the FPE1 screen to attach the variant.

Hence whenever I go to FPE1, all I see is an error message

"Define a line layout variant for item display"

Hello,

You need to define variants @ various levels in FICA.

I'm not too sure what exactly your log says.
