account groups function assignment

Hi guys,

What is the purpose of “account groups function assignment” in the partner determination procedure for customer master? What is influenced by this assignment?

the purpose of account groups in partner determination procedure is for the following reasons

For the particular account group we will be having or making some feilds mandatory for that purpose we create our own account group for all partner functions SP,SH,BP,PY.

1) The account group determines the number ranges

2) we can make our feilds mandatory /optional / display /supressed as per our requirement in the account groups

3) In account group we can determine wheather one -time customers are there or not

4) In partner determination procedure , we will be assigning the partner fucnctions what all we need. for our account group

For example For Sold to party (SP) we need , SH,BP,PY and other partner functions like KB,KM

where as for Ship to party (SH) we need SH ,BP ,PY and other partner functions like FA ( fwd agent)

In the same way for Bill to party (BP) we need BP , PY and other partner functions as per the requirement

For Payer (PY) we need only PY and other partner functions

Even some feilds in the account groups does not exist in different partner functions as they have their own functionality

The account group does't know as who is asking for goods and 4 whom the goods has to be delivered and who is going to pay for it and where the goods has to be sent.In order to make understand we do that.

When you create partner determination procedure , the next step is to list all partner functions in this procedure. Then you assign this procedure to account group. From those assignment SAP can determine which partner functions are assigned to the account group.

I do not understand why you need to assign explicitly partner functions to the specific account group at the end?
