budgetary control - both value and quantity wise

dear gurus,

we have a scenario wherein we require to place value control at the project level and the quantity control at the WBSE level. for ex: budget for the overall project is RS.10 Lakhs which may be availed by any WBSE upto any reasonable level but the quantity of material in each WBSE should only be 1.Can somebody please suggest a solution to this?

When you are putting Budgetory control on particular WBS thru CJ30/CJ32 & AVAC status of WBS is active which confirms that against particular WBS u can't make commitements more than Budgeted amt.

When u are putting check by bugeted amt only the corresponding Quantity can be commited in PR & PO which shuld not exceed the budget.We cant control quantity directly.

is there any way where by we can put a check both value and quantity wise? if there is no such limit then there is a possibility of purchasing more number of an item than needed. since a PR/PO can be raised for any number of projects at a time, there will be no control project wise. is there no way by which we can limit the purchase quantity of a particular item project wise?

Hi,

Budget functionality will work against Value of the WBSE n't at quantity level.The logic is quantity will come under value & there can't ne quantity based budgeting. Morever Budget is n't only for material procurement, this will work for other reasons to restrict expenditures from the Projects. If the material procurement is against WBSE, then budget control will restrict the value of PO within Budget limit & there can't be procurement beyond budgeted amount.

Budget can be assigened against WBSE & project level also.

I really have not understood what you mean by "quantity control at WBSE level". Please elaborate.
