BOM : 1 item missing on explosion

Hi Gurus !

When i explode (ERLA) BOM on the order, One Item does not apear. can you suggest what could be the possible cause.

usage - 1 (production BOM)

am i missing something in configuration?

Your question is not clear Can you elaborate in detail but as far as my undersatanding goes with your question , plz check the item category group for that sub item, make sure that it is NORM.

In T.code CS01 , the BOM usage should be 5 (sales and distribution) , i think there you missed the configuration as you have entered 1 as production

Hi Srinath,

Sorry for late responce.

I am not sure whats holding that material to not to apear on the order. Note that:-

The sub Item has Cat.Grp=NORM

Had the (Usage = 1) been an issue, the BOM shouldnt have exploded at all. but it shows the other sub-items except the last one.

i checked to my level best, but could not locate a flaw in config.

any more suggestions?

when you create bom materials in CS01 , you will be entering the following

material - mat1

plant - 1000

BOM usage - 5 (sales and distribution)

but swathi you have entered the BOM usage as 1 which is production order

But if you enter 1 it wil explode but there should be other settings which PP consultants will be doing that is the reason for sales and distribution BOM usage is 5 and production order BOM usage is 1

That is the place i think you are missing the configuration

Thanks everyone....

The Production BOM had 4 items but the Sales BOM had 3 items.

so if a sales order is created it will have only 3 items.

but if a PO is created with reference to this SO then it will place a requirement of 4 items.

This is a descrepancy and the sales BOM should also be configured for 4 items.

check the item category group for the material that is not exploding.

BOM material should be usage 5.

check whether you have indicated this material in your BOM correctly.

In CS01, maintain the usage as 5 instead of 1. Then your problem will be solved.

If you are not getting any error message in the order, check that component in your BOM is set to "sales relevant"
