shell problem not working!!! :((

This is my not-working problem: Being given a text file create a folder that will contain 26

dictionary files as follows:first file contains the words

begining with 'A', alphabetically sorted, the second file with

'B' and so on.

I tried with awk but either I have written it wrong, or it can't be solved with it.
