Dear all,
I have a small problem in DMS numbering. Our user wants the numbering in following manner, is it possible in sap dms?
starting from 01-0001 to max 99-9999
Regards,
Hi,
you can define the document type with number assignment Mixed with exit(3) or external with Exit(4). then copy te standard number exit MCDOKZNR to make the numbering that you need.
Regards.

hi poonam,
go to dc10 , define document types,
in this you find number range tab, click on it.
after this click on change interval. clieck on interval tab,
and define the number interval you want.
in dc 10 select external no range which you want, dont put anything in internal no range , save it.
now you can find the documet no as you want.
Thanks

Hi,
if you want to define a special number range you can do this in the Customizing (TA SPRO) under:
- Cross-Application Components
- Document Management
- Control Data
- Define Number Ranges for Document Numbers
In this IMG activity, you define the number ranges for document numbers and the type of number assignment. When you define a document type, you must create at least one number range for assigning document numbers. You have the following options:
1. Internal number assignment
Your SAP System assigns a numeric number from the number range defined.
2. External number assignment
You can define a numeric number from the number range defined.
For further information please see also the documentation to this customizing point.
Best regards,
Christoph
