unchecking the customer enhanchement field through BAPI

Hi

i have added one field in standard screen through BDT . That field is a check box . when i am updating it throug BAPI , it is working fine for checking the field as x . when i am trying to unchecked it by taking ' ' (Space) it is not updating . i think it is not reading balnk . what should i do if i want to uncheck the field

through BAPI .
