Hi,
To understand the entire Mapping process in Import manger you need to go through the differnt links provided by the above replies.
But before you see the snapshots and try doing the importing you need to understand which are the tabs in Import manger and what are they used for.
The tabs Under Import manger are as follows:
- Source Preview
- Map Fields/Values
- Matching tab
- Import Action
- Importing Button ( ! )
1) The first step in Importing is Providng the source location when you open import manger
2) Once you open the IM window you need to select the source and destination tables in the upeer left and right corner.
3) You can view your source in the source preview tab
4) Then map similar fields in the map fields tab,by clicking the source field and destination field and pree map
5) If you are using lookups then value mapping is required
6) Once you map the fields the select the primary field in the Matching tab
7)Then select the correct import action for eg if its firts time importing then create else update all mapped fields etc.
😎 Finally press the import buttton to import your source.
Go through the links to get a clearer picture.
Hope it helped
Kindly Reward Points if found useful
Thanks

Hi,
For your query regarding Mapping Values in Import Values.
Now, we can map 2 things :
1. Mapping Fields - the fields in the source need to mapped with the Fields in the Repository. All the fields that we will map will then be populated in MDM.
Taking an example, suppose the source has 4 fields
Field1 - type TEXT
Field2 - type TEXT
Field3 - type Look-up Flat - For Look-up table - TABLE1
A. Now, for mapping, the First step is to populate the Look-up Table( TABLE1).
B. After that, the next step will be to choose the Source mentioned above and the Product table ( main Table ). Go to Map Field/Values. Map the 3 fields. But you will have to map values for the Field3 - type Look-up Flat - For Look-up table - TABLE1
2. Mapping Values - Hence we map values for Look-up fields. As we have 1 look-up field in the main source, we will have to map values for it.
For this, go to Map Field/Values tab, then do the Field Mapping for FIELD3, and then go to Value Mapping and map the Values. ( Prerequisite step - Step A)
Hence you will be able to import the Data into MDM.
Hope it helps.
Thanks and Regards
