What is Engineering change management related to QM module only?
I know that ECM is seperate module itself.
but from QM point of view, what is it exactly?
You could have two inspection plans for a material by material revision. For example, your plant is currently using material 123 at Rev A. But want a pilot run of a new revision of 123 is at Revision B.
(You use a change management record to assign a revision level to a material.) Then the PO will have the revision level of the material noted. So, when warehouse (incoming inspection) receives PO for material at Rev A, the Rev A inspection plan is used. But if the warehouse receives PO with revision B listed, the inspection plan for the pilot run (rev B), is used.
Hope it helps.

Hi Rupali,
The use of ECM is same irrespective of the module....... to have the history of the changes done.
For instance it can be used for change in Inspection plan in QM .......
