error in spam

hello experts,

I am applying SAP BASIS PATCH (SAPKB70011) , I got stuck in EPRA_EXECUTION phase.

It is going on running for more then 10 hours.

i had restarted the import but still it is showing the same status.

it is not writing any logs, I checked in SM50 it shows ON HOLD reason RFC, report SAPLSTPA.

when i checked in SM66 it says CPIC STOPPED.

I had even tried importing the patch in FOREGROUND, but in status bar it shows "TP BUFFER PREPARED OK " and going on running.

unable to resolve the issue.

any suggestions

Hi,

stop SPAM .

check TP or R3trans is active at OS level or not.

check the latest SLOG file from \usr\sap\trans\log.

if no process for TP and R3trans and table TRJOB is empty then check content of table TRBAT if any entry exists delete it.

then execute report (se38) RSTPTEST,

ensure that all checks finishes fine (with a green sign)

Repeat SPAM

if still problem persists then do following

stop SPAM.

kill TP and R3trans.

on command prompt change your working directory to sap kernel folder

now execute following

TP CLEANBUFFER SID pf= <Drive:\>\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_SID.PFL

there r entries in the trbat and trjob.

with return code 8888, can i delete the entries.

will there be any side effects for this .

I had stopped the import and deleted the entries in tables TRBAT and TRJOB

again restarted the import and it has successfully completed.

Hi,

this is normal error while applying a BAsis support package in version 700.

Please follow the steps below :

1.Pls make sure that you have NOT made any changes to import buffer.Note down the request. try to use the command to verify

tp showbuffer <SID> tag=spam pf=<...transport profile>

2. check at OS level to see if there is any tp or R3trans still running;if yes pls stop them.

3. The TRBAT and TRJOB tables should be empty.

4. Pls issue the following tp command to manually import

tp r3i <request> <SID> pf=<Name incl. Path to the transport profile> tag=spam -Dclientcascade=yes -Drepeatonerror=8

The return code for this tp call must be 0 or 4. otherwise pls send this msg to SAP.

5. At this time you should be able to logon system as normal and you MUST continue and finish the following steps after the import in SPAM. check queue and confirm after spam finishes.

It should be XPRA not EPRA.

The Job RDDEXECL needs to be run manually. To do this, open a new session call transaction code sm36 and schedule ABAP program RDDEXECU.

Hi ,

check the tp syslog for error messages.

Check whether the cofile and the datafile get corrupted in the /usr/sap/trans folder

If the cofile and datafile is corrupted u download the patch and extract it again and restart the patch in the SPAM
